The Fyredogs sind Deutsche, klingen aber wie Rotzrockkönige aus Skandinavien – „´nuff said“, könnte man sagen. Sehr tight und roh rockt die EP „Pumpin’ Iron“ genau auf den Punkt. Die enorme Live-Erfahrung merkt man der Band an. Irgendwo zwischen alten Hellacopters und Kyuss auf Speed haben die Fyredogs es sich schön bequem gemacht und dabei ihr Handwerk genau gelernt. Die Riffs sitzen, der raue Gesang passt wie Arsch auf Eimer, und das Tüpfelchen auf dem i ist das „Interview“ mit einer Pornodarstellerin („You try having four dicks in you at the same time“) – so was gehört irgendwie ganz einfach dazu.
Negativ ist an der Scheibe nur die kurze Spielzeit. Ansonsten gehört „Pumpin’ Iron“ ins Regal jedes Genresammlers. Bier auf und ab dafür!
